I came across this link on a site called Southern Fried Science. Back in 2004, a dead sperm whale washed up on shore at Cape Lookout, NC. The North Carolina Museum of Maritime History is looking to raise money to reassemble the bones at the museum. You can go to their web sheet, select the whale bone that you want to sponsor, and then when the project is complete, you name as a donor will be part of the final display.
So let’s break this down. I’m from North Carolina. I love whales. I love whaling and maritime museums. And I like seeing my name on stuff. So I’ll be sponsoring a tooth.
Additionally, I’ll be setting up a widget on behalf of WAWD.com readers. When I get that done, I’ll get it added to the right rail so you can donate…And whalesandwienerdogs.com will be part of a museum installation.
